I started War and Peace twelve times. Same result every time — for a long while, I thought the problem was me.
It wasn't. I was trying to walk in through the front door: a six-hundred-page novel, cold. The back door was open the whole time — short stories, by the same great writers, twenty minutes at a time. One great story does more than a stalled novel ever will.
That discovery is this series. One short story a day. One author a month. It works for Tolstoy. It works for Woolf. It works for whichever author has scared you off for years.
The problem we're solving
Most people who want to read the classics never get there.
Not because they're not interested. Because the books are long, the language is unfamiliar, and there's no obvious place to start. You pick up Moby-Dick with good intentions and put it down by page three.
The Seven Day Anthology Series was built for exactly this.
What the series is
Each volume focuses on a single author — one you've probably heard of, but may never have read.
We select seven short stories from their body of work. Stories that are short enough to read in one sitting, and varied enough to show you who this writer really was.
